Who we are looking for

Our Ticket Sellers play a key role in our visitor experience and are vital to our five star tourist status.

We are looking for outgoing, confident, highly motivated sales people to join our team at Edinburgh Bus Tours in March 2018 promoting our tours and products. You must enjoy working outdoors, meeting people and be keen to develop your sales skills whilst achieving our ambitious sales targets for 2018. You will have experience of cash handling, accountability and demonstrate the high level of customer care we expect.

Previous experience in the tourism industry would be an advantage, but not vital as full training and support will be given.

As July and August are our peak times, we are unable to give holidays during this time (holiday pay will be accrued) and you will be expected to work at weekends.

What we Offer

We have flexible working patterns throughout the season (Mid March-November). We offer a competitive salary of £6.75 per hour plus commission and staff rewards. We will provide a uniform and free travel within the Lothian family services.

Our tour bus drivers do more than just drive a bus; they play a vital role in our visitor experience and are vital to our five star tourist status.

We are looking for qualified PCV drivers with an up to date CPC qualification who have no more than 3 penalty points experience of cash handling, accountability and can demonstrate the high level of customer care we expect. Previous experience in the tourism industry would be an advantage, but not vital as full training and support will be given.

What we offer

About the role

Due to our ongoing expansion we currently have vacancies for drivers in all our depots. Driving a bus in passenger service can be challenging. Your working style will be extremely safety conscious whilst having a flair and passion for customer service. You will enjoy learning and have the ability to recall and apply information that you have learnt while in training on a day to day basis in the job. With a keen eye for detail, you will also be able to concentrate and maintain this level of concentration, even when working for long periods on your own.

On joining our team you will be welcomed into the driving school, supported by some of the most experienced and approachable trainers the industry has to offer. Post training you will have a qualification for life and be encouraged to develop with support from our internal buddies. This will be continuous and you will be given the chance to improve yourself with annual refreshers leading to a Certificate of Professional Competence including driver quality monitoring to make 'our team' even better.

Your role

Lothian Buses are the dominant bus provider in Edinburgh and the surrounding areas of Midlothian and East Lothian. We have an opportunity at our busy Central Depot location for a reliable Breakfast Chef working 35 hours per week.

Our Breakfast Chefs are hardworking individuals who can work on their own initiative and are key players in our kitchen teams. You will be required to work 6 days a week (Mon – Sat) starting at 5am and finishing at 11am.

Breakfast Chef Responsibilities

  • The preparation, cooking and service of all breakfast foods
  • Ensuring we are adhering to all food hygiene regulations
  • You will also ensure that the kitchen is kept to a high standard of cleanliness

Breakfast Chef Requirements

  • Good experience in cooking a full range of breakfast meals
  • Previous experience working in a busy environment
  • Experience in stock control and ordering
  • Excellent communication and team working skills
  • Highest standard of quality control
  • Health and safety training and a willingness to train assistant staff
