Virgin Money Fireworks Concert

Monday 28 August - take the bus into town or to the Inverleith Park viewing area

This year's Edinburgh International Festival comes to an end on Monday at 2100 with the fantastic Virgin Money Fireworks Concert.

Set against the background of Edinburgh Castle, the Scottish Chamber Orchestra will be joined by Karen Matheson from Capercallie to play in time to a display of 100,000 choreographed fireworks.

With over 250,000 people expected to attend the concert, the best way to get into town is to take the bus. Our journey planner will help you plan your trip and tell you which of our services is best for you.

If you are heading into Princes Street, please be aware that the city will be very busy and there will be street closures will be in place from 1930 and bus diversions will be in place.

Full details of how your service will be affected on the night are here.

If you don’t want to travel into Princes Street, Inverleith Park has a free Family Viewing Area with excellent views of Edinburgh Castle and a live video link and sound system to capture the Concert in the Gardens that accompanies the fireworks display.  You can get there and back easily on service 24, 29 or 42.

We'll have late cover on our  twitter feed to help you get to the fireworks and back so if you have any questions on Monday night, just tweet!

We hope everyone's night goes with a bang!
